Ice fishing is a time-honored winter tradition in Maine. It offers anglers a unique and exciting way to experience the state’s frozen waters. The traditional ice fishing season runs from January 1 through March 31. However, changes in state regulations allow us to start as soon as the ice forms and is safe. Our season now extends from the first safe ice until ice-out in the spring.
Our guided ice fishing trips target nearly all of Maine’s freshwater species. Anglers have the opportunity to catch Brook Trout, Landlocked Salmon, Lake Trout (Togue), Burbot, Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie, and Perch. Whether you’re experienced or new to the sport, we have the knowledge and equipment to make your trip successful and enjoyable.
These trips are great for families. Ice fishing offers a fun and memorable way to spend time outdoors. It allows all ages to enjoy the thrill of catching fish, experience Maine’s winter beauty, and learn about the sport in a relaxed setting.
We provide all the necessary gear. You only need a valid Maine fishing license and warm clothing for the weather. Our equipment includes tip-ups, jig rods, a portable shanty with a heater and fuel, an ice auger, bait, and transportation via snowmobile and sled. To keep you comfortable, we also offer hot beverages, including tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.
Our ice fishing trips take place in some of the best locations in Maine. These include the accessible waters of Central Maine near Bangor, and the scenic Acadia region near Bar Harbor and Ellsworth. No matter where you choose to fish, you’ll enjoy Maine’s breathtaking winter landscapes and a thrilling day on the ice.
