Grouse and Woodcock Hunting
Maine’s upland hunting tradition is built on wild birds and real hunting experiences. These are not pen-raised birds released for an easy shoot. The excitement is in reading the cover, working behind skilled dogs, and watching the hunt unfold naturally. Few moments compare to seeing a dog lock into that iconic point on a woodcock, or the sudden heart-pounding thunder of a grouse flushing unexpectedly from the cover.

Hunt Maine’s North Woods
Your base camp for this experience is in Fort Kent, Maine—placing you in the heart of some of the most storied upland country in the Northeast. From your comfortable cabin retreat, the gateway to the Allagash region is less than 30 minutes away, opening access to a vast network of gravel roads, wild coverts, and remote North Woods habitat where grouse and woodcock thrive.
In addition to hunting public wilderness country, we also utilize carefully selected local and private covers to provide a diverse and productive hunting experience. This allows us to adapt to conditions, bird movement, and hunting pressure while giving guests the authentic experience of chasing wild birds across real Maine cover.

The Accomodations
After the hunt, settle into your comfortable Maine cabin retreat. Guests stay in a well-appointed cabin that blends rustic charm with modern comforts, including indoor plumbing, hot water, a kitchenette, and Wi-Fi so you can stay as connected—or unplugged—as you choose.
This is an all-inclusive experience designed to let you focus on the hunt, not the logistics. Your stay includes three meals each day, with a hearty breakfast to start the morning, a packed lunch to enjoy in the field, and a satisfying dinner waiting after a full day behind the dogs.

Guides
Professional guides are included in your trip rate, ensuring a personalized and high-quality hunting experience. To provide the attention, safety, and dog handling that upland hunting deserves, we maintain a ratio of one guide for every two hunters. This allows for a more intimate hunt, better communication in the field, and the ability to fully enjoy the experience as the dogs work the cover in pursuit of wild Maine grouse and woodcock.
Getting Here Is Easier Than You Think
While this is a true North Woods hunting experience, reaching us is surprisingly simple. Daily nonstop flights connect Boston directly to Presque Isle, making northern Maine far more accessible than many guests realize. Depending on travel dates, round-trip airfare can often be quite affordable compared to many destination hunting trips. From Presque Isle, it’s a straightforward and scenic drive to base camp in Fort Kent, where your Maine upland hunting retreat begins.
For those who prefer to drive, the journey into northern Maine is part of the adventure, carrying you through some of the most beautiful and remote country in the Northeast before arriving in the heart of grouse and woodcock country.
